Pets Pride Catlight 8: Sushi
We regularly feature a cat in the spotlight. We ask about fun facts and habits, and the answers are surprising! This week, it's Sushi's turn.
Where was Sushi born?
Sushi was born at my mother's house on April 6, 2023. Sushi was from a litter I photographed (I'm a pet photographer). This certainly wasn't the first litter, and I don't know why, but I simply fell in love with Sushi.
How did he get his name?
I'd had the name Sushi in mind for years. Sushi is my favorite food. So, "I love sushi" has two meanings for me 🤭
Does Sushi have any unique custom or quirk?
Sushi keeps me busy... He's a special one. Maybe because he's gotten really red; he was white when I got him. He doesn't meow, he screams. He climbs in, on, under, through everything... He's not easily impressed by anything, and if he gets scolded, he gets back at me by grabbing my legs (thankfully, without claws!).
Oh yeah, and Sushi won't sit on your lap. And cuddling? I'm glad he comes to give me headbutts sometimes 😅
Has Sushi ever caught or brought home anything unusual?
I've been living in a new house since May. Before that, I lived in the middle of a nature reserve. My cats have always been indoor cats, but I do have a cat run. At my old house, my run was only 2 by 4 meters. Not very big. My two older European shorthairs never brought home anything unusual... But Sushi? Sushi catches everything. Flies, butterflies, mice. The strangest things he's brought home are the salamander and the ferret. Both alive. Oh yeah, he also sometimes brought mice in alive, only to lose them under my bed. Fond memories 😅 So far, thankfully, it's only insects and butterflies in my new house...
